One of the best ways to stay healthy is to get green food into your diet. A large portion of the Standard American diet consists mainly of meat, dairy, eggs, refined flours and sugars which are very acidic and rough on the digestive system. The most alkalizing foods, foods that counterbalance the acidity, are green veggies. Other vegetables and very few fruits are also alkalizing to the body. I’ll remind everyone again that acidity leads to illness, colds and eventually disease. It is the conditions of your body that allow for illness, not your surroundings.
So, it is very important, no matter what your diet is, to get some green food into your body. One of the great ways to get green food into your body is green smoothies. This way the food is pre-chewed by the blender and all the wonderful minerals and vitamins are easily absorbed into the body. I experiment all the time with green smoothies and came across a really good one and thought I’d share 🙂
Serving size is for 2 people so if you don’t want that much cut it in half.
- 3 cups of spinach
- 2 large bananas or 3 small
- 1 cup of strawberries cut in half
- 2 cups of water
Throw ingredients in the blender and you have your smoothie 🙂
